研究背景
我們致力於應用同步輻射光源及中子源之散射、晶體繞射技術,結合高壓物理法來探討溶致性液晶體(lyotropic liquid crystals)與生物軟物質(biological soft matter)的結構、動態(dynamics)及相變化行為。我們將從此研究中建立起物質之功能、結構和動態的相互關聯性。此關聯性不但可增進我們對這些物質系統的基礎了解(為科學家們所感興趣),更有助於功能性材料的設計與開發(乃工程師致力的目摽之ㄧ)。目前我們的研究主題包括:
1. 帶電性磷脂質(electrically charged phospholipids)與其他溶致性液晶體的相變化行為機制
2. 脂質生物膜(lipid biomembrane)之材料性質與動態性質的相互關聯性
3. 發展使用於蛋白質結晶之高壓力低溫冷凍技術(high-pressure cryocooling technique)及開發設計其他科學儀器
4. 水與生物軟物質之相互作用
5. 應用中子源散射技術於生物及新穎材料系統之研究
