Research Interests
Process Design, Process Control, Techno-Economic Assessment, Catalytic Materials.
This laboratory primarily focuses on hydrogen production processes, renewable energy supply chains, and waste valorization processes. We develop highly active electrochemical and thermochemical catalytic materials and conduct economic assessments and profitability feasibility analyses. By tuning material properties (including intrinsic electronic properties and metal-support interactions), we enhance catalyst activity and stability. Upon obtaining kinetic models of catalytic reactions, we proceed with industrial-scale process design combined with techno-economic assessment to evaluate the industrial application potential of the technology.
Research highlights and technical approaches include:
• Developing highly active electrochemical and thermochemical catalytic materials, such as multimetallic materials and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), to improve cost-efficiency in hydrogen production and international renewable energy supply chains.
• Establishing kinetic models by acquiring kinetic parameters of catalytic reactions via lab-scale reactors, providing a foundation for subsequent process design.
• Utilizing simulation software such as Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, and Aspen Dynamics for industrial-scale process design and economic assessment to evaluate the commercialization potential of technologies.
